1.
I stood in the tower Candle half-glow Animates a crawling fern Decorates the stone Suddenly it's circular Grandiose and powerful I'm floating from my body Like dissipating dew Whisp Whispy Incense Stream Whisp My grandma dances radiantly Like a wild thing Arching back Butterfly wings Manzanita skin Whisp Whispy Incense Stream Whisp Duel of Doves Manzanita, manzanita Smooth as manzanita Coaxing the pods Pomegranate A duel of doves are painting Minnows at your toes Giant clouds above us Giant lungs blow Duel of Doves Giant's lungs Duel of Doves
2.
Once with hair the color of the bark Of a great oak, now you stand stark Not yet soaked from the rain that floods your wrinkled skin Silver whisps streak down your face Slivers in the deepest grays Just like in the eroded river where you'd played Fifty years you were away Feigning your great escape Then you were lead to return to the town you'd fled There were stairs the height of Zeus Made of stone, rotting loose You climbed alone in the shadow of a home you'd known From the top of the church stairs Umbrellas open like quilt squares You admire the choir of the drops of rain Lo-lo-lo Once inside the angels taunt you Dancing fire, your visions haunt you And to the spire, you inquire the good of it's vantage point Your footsteps go forth as echoes Just as waves follow a swimming ghost And betray those who intend to seek unseen You leave, a thread tied to the door Spool spinning between your forefinger And your thumb, you're numb, the tapestry grieves Lo-lo-lo
3.
I found the oldest oak And I peered into it's hollow The creatures I saw Enticed me, those shadowy things I climbed the tree Seeking a higher thing Limbs like hands pulled me It bowed and beckoned I was offered two things Love of beauty or love of greed The two-headed creature breathed One will be difficult, one easy I wandered the land Longed to hold honey in my hand Longed to forge a good path But when I panned for gold it revealed ash Came to a lush valley The people welcomed me They offered tea Milky with cream, sweet as honey I thought it was a dream My body still waiting Beside the still lagoon Shines like a mirror in the moon Ooh, we danced 'til darkness Daylight does fall I sat beside myself Which dance was false? Once in the garden I planted flowers for to harvest A thief stole my best rose They pulled it to their nose, it opened to mold But they flourished for me The best of the buds and the worst of the beast
4.
I stood in the tower, candle half aglow Animates a crawling fern, decorates the stone Suddenly it's circular, grandiose and powerful I'm floating from my body, like dissipating dew Whispy incense stream My grandma dances radiantly, like a wild thing Arching back, butterfly wings, manzanita skin A hawk feather token, you bowed to me I'm looking through marbles as I'm gardening Coaxing the pods from a pomegranate Kissing your lips so to see you grinnin' A duel of doves are painting, minnows at your toes Giant clouds above us, giant lung blows
